Once a project started, I worked closely with designers and developers, and other team members to ensure the timely and successful implementation of the project plans.A highlight of my time at A-Solutions was a project conducted with the MOE (Ministry of Environment) to identify solutions that help reduce the threat of the air pollution resulting from the burning of rice straw and landfills, which results in the phenomenon known as “the Black Cloud”. The project focused on improving employee communication and the workflow around the reporting of burning violations by field rangers. There were many challenges to the project, such as the rangers’ inexperience with digital workflows and the ministry’s inability to provide devices and equipment. After thorough research, we decided to build a system that would automatically push satellite-captured data straight to the rangers’ mobile phones through a chatbot interface that would then require each employee to respond with specific information about the incident. This information would then be used to produce insights and reports.The system was applied in five different governorates. One of which, has managed to use the system to report over 5000 incidents in one season. The project was considered an instant success and was recognized by the minister of environment as extremely beneficial.
