I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself. As an owner, sales manager, and general manager, I have spent the last 20 years in the field of construction sales and sales management with a specific focus on management. As an owner of BTI Services Inc., I was responsible for developing and implementing a successful sales program designed around the acquisition of new and existing telecommunication projects. I developed solutions from blue prints and supervised all installations, as well as training and managing a sales force to do the same. My career path then led me to RSC Equipment Rental where it was our goal to lead our customers, both commercial and residential, through the entire building process and provide the equipment necessary for each facet of constructing a new building. At RSC each store was viewed as its own cost center, so as a store manager I was solely responsible for an entire operation revolving around over $5.3 million dollars worth of fleet. RSC then promoted me to Business Development Manager for district 514 which included Eastern Iowa, Northern Illinois including Chicago, and Northwestern Indiana. As a BDM, I worked to develop a regional sales force of 14 outside sales reps representing a district of $82,000,000 as well as the top 60 accounts within the district. In an effort to spend less time on the road and more time with my young kids, I made the decision to move into insurance. My position with The Horace Mann Companies allowed me the opportunity to manage an agency that covers the central Illinois territory including a book of business I built to around 2300 educators. Though I enjoyed my time in the insurance industry, I knew my interests were better served in the construction industry. So after years in the insurance industry, my career path took me back to managing an equipment rental facility for United Rentals.
