I am a chemical engineer specializing in multiphase computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling. My experience in this area has involved modeling the physical phenomena of a wide variety of systems in the ANSYS, OpenFOAM, and FLOW-3D environments as well as my own fluid dynamics and reaction solvers. Examples of systems I've simulated include gas-liquid cryofluidic mixures, turbulent gas-particle flows, solid-liquid reacting flows, high shear mixing, and photopolymerization. My academic experience in chemical engineering and physics along with my research experience in programming allows me to seamlessly break down systems I encounter to fundamental physical and mathematical principles and then build them up using coding to engineering applications. My experience in assembling my own fluid modeling code gives me insight on what is going on behind the curtain when operating in commercial simulation environments. A consistent theme of my work been in figuring out ways to extend the reach of simulation capabilities through developing modeling techniques, streamlining code execution, and implementing parallelization utilizing high-performance computing (HPC) resources.
