While acting in this capacity I direct a 30-member workforce of educators and staff members in the education of a diverse population of undergraduate students enrolled in the music and arts departments. I develop high-level strategic roadmaps aligned with the achievement of all targeted goals. I am responsible for multiple key functional areas and hold final approval for all instructional materials and textbooks. I lead procurement functions for academic resources and use a hands-on approach to evaluating faculty members and consistently encouraging professional growth and excellence. Some key achievements in this position: • Represented the University during the annual National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) meetings.• Demonstrated superior fiscal acumen while developing, managing, and administering key budgets for Operations and Capital expenses by streamlining expenses, slashing redundant spending, and optimizing cost savings.• Acted as the primary representative of the goals, priorities, and interests of each department before a network of internal and external departments, stakeholders, community members, and business partners.• Played an instrumental role in the establishment of a skilled and engaged workforce of full-time and adjunct faculty members while engaging closely with the Provost and Associate Provost throughout the recruitment lifecycle and recommending promotion, tenure, and development whenever appropriate.

While serving in this position I lead the development of a high-performance workforce of pre-college faculty members and ensemble directors through strategic talent development including hands-on control of recruiting, hiring, training, continued mentorship, and routine performance evaluations. I direct an administrative assistant throughout all daily operations and special projects while balancing multiple, simultaneous priorities, complex requirements, and hard deadlines.Some key achievements in this position:• Proactively investigated program practices and performance metrics to identify areas of concern, issues, or negative trends along with actionable solutions to optimize efficiency and maximize program effectivity• Ensured the incoming student body was well-prepared to excel within the rigorous academic environment of the instruction by leading the roll-out of critical programming offering one-on-one mentoring and coaching services.• Expanded program awareness and engagement by fostering and strengthening a network of key relationships with professional music educations spread across the community at various elementary, junior, and high school institutions.

During my time in this position I presided over a series of critical Faculty Business Meetings that engaged the entire, 83-member force of educators. I developed and executed the Faculty Business Meeting Agenda while focusing on the core mission and priorities of the institution. I activated transformative change on an institution-wide level by expanding academic offerings, enhancing recruitment, and fostering strong partnerships within the community.Some key achievements in this position:• Informed top-level decision making by the University President by delivering key insights and recommendations based on the generation of a comprehensive annual report on faulty interests• Spearheaded efforts to achieve shared governance outcomes from the Provost and Faculty Senate.• Expertly navigated and addressed any constituent concerns in a timely and effective manner.• Operated in a highly-visible capacity as the primary representative of the priorities of the faculty before the Board of Trustees and the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board.

I educate students in both traditional and virtual classroom environments, develop lesson plans and syllabi, conduct lectures, administer coursework, and track student progress by delivering routine examinations. I establish core goals and objectives for professional development, explore potential career trajectories, and recommend additional resources for growth. I evaluate curriculum, identify gaps in learning, and recommend solutions to fortify and enhance course content.
