Director, Heritage Seminars
CurrentHeritage Seminars are unique educational experiences which study Jewish ancestral roots, research the sources of Jewish life in Eastern Europe and identify with our heritage. Through extensive visits to the destroyed centers of Jewish culture and Torah scholarship and a course of creative academic study that takes place throughout the seminar, participants strengthen their Jewish identity, awareness, and commitment to the Jewish people and the State of Israel. Heritage was conceived as a seminar with special emphasis on the richness of the cultural contributions of Eastern European Jewry before the war and their demise during the Holocaust. Heritage serves the needs of 35 institutions in Israel and in the USA, including the one year Yeshiva programs, Hebrew and Bar Ilan Universities, and several Yeshiva High Schools. To date, nearly 12,000 students have attended Heritage programs in Eastern Europe. Heritage was designed to place total emphasis on education, roots, personalities, lifestyle, intimate settings and creative on-site experiences. The program excels in areas of curriculum, resource materials, logistics, staffing, strict kashrut requirements, medical, security and pre-seminar orientation. It is governed by a Senior Staff of esteemed educators. Creating an environment where educational and religious needs are approached with care and detail, where unique, intimate, experiences are educational and spiritual highlights, and where students have direct access to educators is our primary goal.
