Division Head
CurrentResearch and engineering manager for the Applied Mechanics Division of the University of Dayton Research Institute. AMD's mission is to develop technology to safely sustain current aerospace vehicles, develop new concepts for the next generation of aerospace vehicles, and apply this expertise to other systems including ground vehicles and industrial equipment. Specialties: We provide a variety of expertise including computational mechanics; material constitutive and failure modeling (metals, polymers, polymer matrix and ceramic matrix composites, etc.); design and CAD, systems engineering; fatigue and crack growth life prediction; structural effects of corrosion; structural life extension (residual stress, cold working, damping, etc.); risk analysis; designing, building, and fielding new systems; design and analysis of high Mach systems; component and full system structural testing; impact testing (small arms, foreign object, hypervelocity); and characterization of materials at very high strain rates.
