This position serves as the direct point of contact for members regarding their approved loan. The Consumer Loan Processor guides members through the steps and necessary documentation that needs to be submitted to process credit card, personal, and auto loan applications . This entailed communicating with the member over the phone or by email, assisting them with all questions and concerns they might have regarding the process, and also giving them advice such as how to build credit more efficiently and what to expect when purchasing a vehicle at a dealership. Applications needed to be processed to 100% accuracy based on the necessary documentation that was submitted. Other necessary skills required for this position are the ability to understand and explain credit reports to members and why underwriting did not approve them for the amount that was originally requested. Also, the ability to cross sell various aftermarket products such as GAP insurance, extended vehicle warranties, and Debt Protection. Knowledge of California and and out of state DMV documents and regulations is also necessary in order to correctly process auto loans. The position was graded off various KPIs that needed to be met by individuals and the department as a whole. Much of the clientele at this establishment are current and former military, as well as a portion being regular civilians. Show less
