I did not begin my career in the IT industry, it took me a few years to find my place. My background before IT includes interesting things such as being a student pilot and an electrician. Working in our family-owned service business taught me the importance of hard work, dedication, loyalty, and quality of work. I strive to exemplify these standards in all work and personal activities.I got my foot in the door in 1999 as basic desktop support and assisting with preparation to avoid the feared meltdown Y2K was going to bring. My first twelve years in IT were onsite, single-office IT support. The next thirteen and ongoing years have been remote MSP employment. We started an MSP in 2010, grew it through to 2018, then merged with a larger nation-wide MSP. My role evolved into supervisory and service management positions over this time.During this evolution, I have fostered a deep passion and ability for process creation, improvement, efficiency, as well as documentation of such. This is the sort of work that makes me excited to get out of bed in the morning – I get real personal satisfaction out of this. I am known at my company as someone who knows how our processes work and am frequently reached out to for this knowledge. Outside of work and normal daily life, I enjoy working with my hands on home improvement and maintenance tasks, as well as reading or listening to sci-fi/fantasy books.
