Having spent 25 years in retail and retail management I wanted to do something more rewarding. I became a foster carer and gained lots of practical experience of the social care system, as well as having to learn how to advocate for those in my care, and provide them with the stable nurturing environment they require to be their best selves. I began a degree program in order to keep my brain flexible and to aid self-development, as part of this I did a field placement with Horton Housing and as a result of this they offered me employment. I really enjoy working with people and empowering them to be able to attain their personal goals, as well as learning from their experiences. I enjoy walking, nature, wildlife and gardening in my spare time as well as playing golf and (these days) watching football. My wife and I like to socialise and have a diverse group of friends and we also enjoy travelling whenever possible.
