Managing, negotiating and drafting the major master research arrangements with the large academic partners for GE Healthcare technology research, and managing others agreements worldwide. The role further includes conflict of interest reviews of project personnel when required and providing counseling on a variety of research compliance issues with support from the compliance function. Formed an as-hoc team to reduce the complexity of master research agreement templates by >60%. The reduction and language simplification ensures greater ease of negotiation for research partners and increased speed to a successful conclusion. As Senior IP Counsel for MR, managing IP issues including conducting various patent reviews, coordinating with senior engineering management to secure patent rights on key technologies, negotiating license agreements and providing IP strategy and counseling to the MR business. Designed and created (with MR) a contract structure to implement a new collaboration community for imaging academic research partners. This created an unmatched ease of collaboration for them using GE tools.
