About Michael Daly

I began developing software in 1992 while in High School. In 1996 I graduated High School and being a very capable software developer I skipped the college route and began my full-time career programming software for an Oil & Gas software company. Starting out as a C and Assembly developer for embedded systems and quickly moving to desktop development when Windows 3.1 was released, I understand computers from the transistors and capacitors up to the user interface that interacts with the user. I began leading teams in 2008 and started a successful iPad/iPhone development company in 2010 developing health records software. My company specializes in .NET, SQL, Silverlight and Objective C development. View our flagship software on the app store or at www.MobileMidwifeEHR.com!

  • Bank Of America Home Loans
    Avp; Senior Application Consultant

    Work From Home
I started out using C# .NET with technologies such as Silverlight, ASP.NET, AJAX, WCF and LINQ to SQL to enhance foreclosure software. Most recently now in 2012 I completed a year long project as a tech lead developing a very large loan auditing Silverlight application. Let me say, Silverlight is awesome! I can do in one hour what use to take a day in AJAX. The only problem is that QA is getting bored :)
  • Intuit
    Software Consultant
    Intuit Oct 2007 - Apr 2008
I developed a very secure ASP.NET application to handle the editing of merchant accounts by support representatives. It was great AJAX experience. I also worked on some backend components (interfaced by MSMQ) for the handling of encryption of credit card data, logging, exception handling and such.
  • Countrywide Home Loans
    Software Developer
Countrywide Home Loans Jul 2006 - Oct 2007
Heavy ASP.NET development using MVP (like MVC) architecture and Agile iterative development. Refactor, refactor, refactor....my manager here was great at helping me learn the value of practical patterns to develop more maintainable, testable code that is truly OO. Smaller methods, more objects, cleaner abstraction and more self descriptive. I learned that coding is more of an art than just coding requirements.
  • Pepsi Bottling Group
    Software Consultant
Pepsi Bottling Group Jan 2006 - Jul 2006
Developed a .NET 2.0 C# Winforms app on a handheld using windows mobile 5.0. Agile Scrum was the methodology (very intense). I spent waaaayy to much time though doing XSLT transforming XML to HTML reports. It was a unique experience being in a very small room almost shoulder to shoulder with 19 people.

I developed a Winforms application in C# with a team of about 6 developers.

This was a company I started and operated from 2002 - 2007. I had 160 homes hooked up wirelessly to my internet service with 6 T1s. It was superb until FIOS came and shattered my hopes and dreams (sniffle, sniffle).
  • Texas Instruments
    Software Developer
    Texas Instruments Oct 2000 - Sep 2004
I developed a winforms application using C# .NET 1.1 or maybe even 1.0, can't remember. I started out using VC++ as there was no .NET. There was heaving communications development as we had to transfer data between one computer and 30 or so calculators wirelessly. Threads, threads, threads and more threads. Memory leaks, memory leaks and more memory leaks...um, what was I saying?. Anyway, thank God for killing C++ with C#.
