OLD AND TIRED, AND FINALLY RETIRED I gained 29 years experience as a police officer with the RCMP in British Columbia and Ontario, with much of it devoted to complex financial crime investigations and counterfeiting deterrence. A second career at the Bank of Canada enabled me to further specialize in the area of counterfeit currency by developing and delivering a national program aimed at criminal justice professionals. After retiring from Canada’s central bank in 2015, I returned to the RCMP as a part-time public servant at National Headquarters. In September 2020, I finally called it a day.In retirement, I continue to sharpen my writing skills by volunteering in the management of the Quarterly, a RCMP Veterans’ Association police journal. I have also chosen to volunteer as a courier with the Bruce Denniston Bone Marrow Society.
