This migration involved breaking a portion of the user & mail account population away from Liberty Mutual corporate to a new autonomous environment.o Hartford Insurance Exchange 2000 – Lotus Notes Coexistence Project Consultanto Designed a scripting solution to integrate with Microsoft’s Lotus Notes Connector, the Binary Tree extensions (third party product), and Active Directory to provide both seamless SMTP mail routing and message fidelity between the two environment (HTML mime type conversion is a known problem with Microsoft).

Active Directory design evaluation (Both logical and physical).o My primary objective when first hired was to resolve Active Directory issues and evaluate the existing design. I worked with the Active Directory team to evaluate, solve, and plan the steps required to resolve these issues. This included anything from; AD Site design, DNS, WINS, DHCP, NTFRS (for DFS), and replication topology.Distributed File System design and implementation.o As part of the AD team, I worked to implement the core distributed file system infrastructure. This was required to provide seamless access to user data from multiple UNC paths providing for a smoother migration. Much of this work was automated through VB and HTA Scripting.EBusiness application and server farm infrastructure design.o COM+ application performance issues due to database access development problems. Resolving these issues led to the need for performance monitoring standards. I made the recommendations for these performance standards documents.Exchange 2000 OWA Implementationo Limitations with existing internet facing layer 3 load balancing devices, I assisted with the implementation of Microsoft ISA Server (Feature Pack 1) to solve the HTTP custom header population problem required by Exchange 2000’s version of OWA for SSL termination.Pro-Active PC Upgrade Projecto This project involved upgrading outdated workstation hardware while maintaining all user profile settings. The process also had to take a full backup of all user data and track the progress of the migration. As part of the desktop automation team, I designed and led the scripting process using VB Script, HTA, WMI, ADO and ADSI methods. This scripting solution simplified the entire process enabling 2000 workstations to be upgraded / deployed in 4 weeks.
