12+ years experience as a Unix/Linux systems administrator. Experience with various applications that support customers of an ISP, including provisioning, DHCP, DNS, apache and Nginx web servers as well as various other infrastructural and customer facing services. I have extensive experience with RHEL and Ubuntu as well as recent versions of Sun/Solaris/Oracle.Have been involved in design, development, support and deployment of a Zimbra 8 email environment for our subscriber base and was the only support personnel for our Zimbra environment. From this I have experience in the Zimbra email platform, Veritas file system, Cloudmark MTA servers, SAN storage (Hitachi), Scality Ring storage technologies, Nagios and Cacti monitoring systems. I am currently improving our Nagios and Cacti monitoring and trending platforms and have transitioned them from physical to virtual. At the same time I am working on normalizing checks, organizing our systems and easing management for all servers in our Data CenterI have been researching the use of an ELK platform for log and data mining and reporting. This platform would allow for more granular and correct data analysis but this has not yet been designed or deployed in our environment.I have experience with VMWare and the deployment and management of servers and resources using the VMWare tools and have been using other forms of virtualization (i.e Virtualbox) for many years. I have developed various scripts and tools to support and develop reports and have built tools to automate communications with our customers, including the development and deployment of a tool to automatically send out notification emails to our customer baseI prefer using base shell scripting with awk, sed and some regular expressions and have been using Perl and Python where applicable. I have experience with email oriented tools such as SWAKs and have been using a Kali for pen testing and IT and Network security analysis
