Assistant Teaching Professor

Research included cooperative development with Electrical Engineering faculty and students to develop a Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) setup to regulate power flow across a power grid. I initiated and maintained the group’s code repository server and related services beginning in early 2004 and oversaw its subsequent transition onto University IT systems.

I primarily problem-solved and repaired PC hardware and software problems on various university-owned machines. Worked in cooperation with other staff members in the maintenance of network hardware and software. Assisted with campus-wide wireless network testing and distribution of wireless technology to the students in the fall of 2000.I briefly assisted in administration of Buena Vista University’s Solaris/Unix production servers including the primary web server. Administered accounts, backups, and assisted with a server transition.In my last few months, I developed and implemented new Access 2000/XP database applications.
