I have been with GE Healthcare for almost 4 years. I entered as a contractor with Thompson Construction, eager to grow and take every advantage available. Since then I have grown tremendously along my career path. After 6 months of contracting I was taken on full time by GE as a production associate. My ambition over the next 1.5 years led me to learn and take responsibility of support and technical roles within my work space. I became someone to trust and come to for solutions. I escalated my career by transitioning into another department acting as management support where I conducted daily cross over meetings between shifts, communicated concerns and standards, as well as maintaining delivery targets and coordinating with other departments for material and quality needs. This undertaking was immense considering I had no prior experience in that department. However the tools and skills I obtained throughout my prior and early career made me capable to find answers to new problems and use information to the company's advantage. One year later, due to the impact of my performance, I was offered a certified trainer assignment in my previous department, while also acting as management support and being responsible for technical assistance. I have worked alongside engineering teams to help develop better and more suitable equipment and methods for production. I have assisted in improvement projects with various leadership teams and coordinated efforts for implementation of new standards. In my short time in corporate manufacturing I have been adamant to learn and grow and use my skills to build a better team and encourage a work environment where individuals feel empowered to do the same.
