Human Resrouces Director
CurrentIn my current position as Lifeline Homecare's Human Resources Director I am in charge of handling all employment matters for our employees. This involves everything from recruitment to end of employment activities with everything in between. Two major areas of focus are recruiting and then reducing turnover and expenditures related to hiring/training new employees. In the aspect of reducing turnover, a major way I have accomplished this has been the development of a recognition and rewards program that has been helpful in ensuring our employees feel appreciated and valued while aiding them in reaching their full potential as a caregiver. The result of these changes along with others has been close to a 50% reduction in turnover over the previous 12 month span..A second challenge brought on by being spread across the state has been employee safety. With servicing nearly 70 counties, there is the challenge of having employees driving between clients and performing services in client's homes. Sometimes these are performed in unfamiliar conditions sometimes resulting in accidents/injury. This has lead me to compile a large cache of resources allowing me to help our employees remain as safe as possible both on the road and in client's homes. With the focus on employee safety, we have been able to reduce the number of recordable accidents by nearly 45%. As the HR Director and sole HR representative for the company, I am also in charge of handling all benefits, performing pre-employment background screening, training requirements, OIG compliance, unemployment inquiries and any other HR related function necessary to maintain 250 employees statewide.
