My name is Michael Hanson. I retired from Montgomery County Fire Department in 2014 with 30 years of service. I was assigned to the fire and explosives investigation unit for 10 years as a fire investigator and bomb technician. I graduated from the MOCO Police Academy with honors. I also was a member of the MOCO USAR team, Hazardous Materials team and an instructor at the PSTA and my last assignment was fire rescue battalion chief. I also worked for the Maryland State Fire Marshalls Office as the Chief Deputy Fire Marshal. For the past 11 years I have worked for an Annapolis MD. based consulting firm, Fire and Arson Investigation Consultants. This is a private firm that investigates fire and explosions for the insurance industry, law firms and large corporations. I have a bachelors degree in Fire Science and a masters degree in Public Administration in Emergency Management.
