Work involves implementing safety programs to reduce or eliminate occupational accidents, injuries, and/or financial losses to the District; conducting field investigations of vehicle accidents causing personal injury or property loss to the District; conducting employee training in safety and loss prevention; instructing cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, first aid, bloodborne pathogens, and eight-hour defensive driving course to employees; investigating and processing tort and vehicle claims to the insurance reserve fund; updating safety manuals; inspecting and conducting semi-annual inspections; compiling data and analyzing past and current year training requirements to prepare budgets and justifying funds requested; maintaining disaster preparedness plan; and preparing reports including conclusions and recommendations for solutions of problems and customer service.
