I’ve worked most of my career in the environmental science and regenerative agriculture sectors. Starting out as a soil scientist and data analysts for Hudson Carbon, I engaged in a variety of projects in a research context. Studying topics ranging from greenhouse gas exchange of different field types, to soil carbon accrual down to a meter in depth in fields which were transitioned out of conventional agriculture to diversified regenerative management, to biomass carbon estimations of agave and acacia shrub trees with drones in San Miguel de Allende. While working for Hudson Carbon, I had the opportunity to work on various carbon projects and got to experience the shortcomings of the traditional carbon registry framework. I saw a need for projects to be based around all types of environmental data, not just carbon, and to form an intimate experience with users displaying the landscape and data as transparent as possible. That is why I created SACRA, to be a pioneer of environmental data collection and reporting. At SACRA I’ve used my environmental research background to develop scalable efficient methodologies for measuring a variety of environmental characteristics: mapping and topography, biomass carbon, soil carbon, forest inventories, bird & insect biodiversity. Running SACRA has enabled me to advance my leadership, administrative, and marketing skills. I am continuing to move SACRA forward as an innovator in how environmental data is collected and shared to empower real regenerative landscape management and agricultural projects.
