Nebraska Information System Project ManagerState Of Nebraska Jun 1999 - Dec 1999The State was trying to determine if it should replace its homegrown accounting system with a vendor owned ERP system. I was selected by the DAS Director to head up this project. In this Initial Critical Design Review phase we determined that moving to an ERP system was the correct path for the State. We did this by comparing the State's requirements to various products and by interviewing many State employees about the current situation. We were able to convince the Legislature and Governor of the need for the software and to obtain the funding of approximately $32 million. While this was a short-term project, it was critical to the long-term State plan.

As Deputy I was directly responsible for all office operations including hiring and managing staff (both professional and clerical),developing and administering the budget, approving audit reports, directing the review of filings by political subdivisions, scheduling of staff, coordination with other State departments and elected officials and many other duties as necessary.

As a manager I was responsible for multiple auditing engagements and staff, the timely completion of work, coordination with clients (everything from answering questions to billings and collections) and other managers, keeping the partners apprised of developments and acquiring new business.
