A book with many ideas for a new economy, what so many are now calling for. The process I engaged when typesetting this book is not typical for typesetters of the last few generations. This is a book of ideas, and as such, the ideas need to stand at the center of the typesetters attention. Design choices are too often made on the aesthetics alone, as if the words were just forms needing a harmonious layout based on their word-form alone. Out of my own experiences of working with idea-filled text, I learned that hyphens especially can disturb the process of comprehension. Wherever possible, I made design choices that served to make ideas accessible as priority one. Certain layout choices were made to give a hold for the unusual amounts of indented quotations in this book, as well as a font choice that served as a mild italic movement, adding a slight size difference that served to collect the activity of the reader as they moved from engaging with the text of the editors and their activity of clarifying context and guiding the reader through the thought-structure of the book, to shift slightly and focus one's activity through the change in the font, facilitating a different, more collected, focused engagement with the text of the central author of the compendium.I hope that the people that read the book are served by the attention given to make the form serve what lives in the life of the book.As a general statement about my work: I'm interested in ways to add my voice and my activity to the many calls for peace, justice, and good-will so needed in our time; we have the capacity to cultivate these elements in our nature and make them central in our lives, if we only choose to do so. Much depends upon it.

SocialSelf.org is an initiative to bring new ideas into public discourse. We invite submissions from people actively working and writing about social issues, economics, money, education, etc. - from a holistic, human based, phenomenological methodology of science that seeks to overcome the abstraction, coldness, and ultimately destructive ideas prevailing today.I've invested a lot of effort in learning new ways of thinking, learning to understand Economics in quite different terms than the mainstream media currently advocates.Perhaps my most profound learning is in 2 areas: 1) To learn to perceive the differences in the realms of the Economics Sphere, Political-Rights Sphere, and the Cultural-Spiritual Sphere - and in perceiving their essential tasks and ideals, to see quite clearly why we are in the trouble we are in. It is bad and will get worse, until we learn how to think differently. 2) I learned to understand Money in the context of being a developing-evolving process in human evolution. Looking at Money as it is today is to to witness something misunderstood in the most critical ways. Money is a tool for evolving our consciousness for things what we are doing, and as it evolves more and more into pure accounting, it plays its most essential role as a language process, providing a means for us to perceive and communicate about what we are engaged in doing. It is assessment, fundamentally. Posterity will see that our time is marked by misusing money most detrimentally by allowing Rights to be purchased and sold like a commodity. Properly understood, Land, Labor, and Capital are not commodities to be consumed, they are elements of our lives that need to be regulated in terms of contractually establishing Rights and Responsibilities. Selling Rights allows Money to be connected to Power in a harmful, and backwards way; backwards from the perspective of where healthy human evolution requires us to go. New ideas + new perceptions = new possibilities.
