Serve as Public Information Officer and spokesperson for the College with all media outlets. Prepare press releases, including news and feature stories and accompanying photographs. Attend, photograph and document meetings and events on campus. Write, edit and design campus newspaper for publication and county-wide distribution. Prepare college catalog, student resource manual, semester schedules and other documents for print and online publication. Coordinate outside printing as needed. Manage college’s Facebook Page and Twitter account (Twitter currently inactive). Conduct public speaking activities and appear on-air during public affairs radio programs. Act as liaison and representative to various civic organizations and government agencies. Manage website content and formerly served as back-up webmaster. Conduct in-house marketing surveys as desired. Design and implement advertising strategies through radio, television and print media. Advertise vacant employee positions. Prepare brochures, flyers, posters and similar documents. Coordinate print shop activities, including preparation, binding and distribution of printed materials, student identification badges, and parking stickers, and budget management and ordering. Coordinated inauguration of college’s third president. Served as liaison for presidential search for third president and conducted search for fourth president. Secured donation of historic building, coordinated renovation of this building and served as campus construction manager for the project. Provide event planning, advertising and fundraising assistance for MTCC Foundation. Member of the President’s Council. Supervise one employee and coordinate work study and interns when assigned. Perform other duties as needed.

Investigated allegations of child abuse, neglect and dependency, and provided protective services as needed. Interviewed children and adults of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. Enforced laws of the State of North Carolina as they relate to child welfare. Prepared court documents and cases as needed for family and criminal court. Secured foster care placements for children in need of out-of-home placement and managed care for these children. Created and implemented care plans, reunification plans (when appropriate), and termination of parental rights (when necessary). Provided direct services, including housing, transportation, fuel, food, heating and other emergency needs. Prepared extensive documentation of case activities. During 8 of these years, acted as agency’s sole crisis/emergency worker for child and adult protective services every weekend and all holidays.
