With a background in Law, I have spent the last 16 years in the Event Industry. Commencing my business in 2005, I established Lloyd Events and developed new concert brands such as Live at the Quarry and Cuban Club as well as supplying services to the major sporting clubs in Western Australia (West Coast Eagles, Fremantle Dockers, Perth Scorchers, Western Force, Perth Glory) through the delivery of their match day sports presentation.In 2012 I become an owner and director of Mellen Events. Over the past 9 years Mellen Events has become the premier promoter of high profile concerts, events and festivals both in WA and nationally. My experience in re-imagining spaces in Perth and WA is demonstrated by success in managing and promoting the highly successful annual outdoor summer concert series in Kings Park (featuring ‘a day on the green’), ‘Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster’ in Kununurra, the annual ‘Future Music Festival’, as well as large outdoor concerts in Broome, Kalgoorlie and Bunbury - A speciality in taking unique places and developing them into world class venues hosting premium events.I have toured and promoted international acts including Paul Simon, Sting, Tom Jones, Simply Red, Simple Minds, Prodigy, Kylie, Burt Bacharach among others.This experience has given me a perception of WA in the national and international space as an event destination. Furthermore, an understanding of regional development and navigating politics whilst staying focused on a vision for the customer experience and the commercial viability of the event.
