• Reporting to the Regional Director of APAC, the coordinator role assumes management of all regional projects following the confirmation of sales.• The job function includes the coordinating of the DRUPS (Diesel Rotary UPS) production-progress at the Hitec group in the Netherlands, the acquisition of all third-party auxiliary equipment required for the system (transformer panels, chokes, radiators, grounding panels, etc), the organizing of shipment of these equipment to their designated country, the provision of support to clients in their preparation of the installation site, and the arrangement of installation-supervisors and commissioning-engineers to facilitate installations. • The specific duties involved are the analysis of sales-contracts and agreements, the planning of project schedules and deliverables, the scheduling of client invoices, the converting of sales-budgeting into the project-financial system (Isah Business Software), the organizing of video conferences (clients, suppliers), the preparation of technical specifications by Project Engineers to facilitate purchase of auxiliary equipment, the authorizing of Purchase Orders (supplier) and supplementary Quotations (clientele), the control of project-budgets covering monthly reporting of forecasted margin, the coordination of supplier deliveries, the approval of supplier-payments, and settlement-costs negotiation prior to project completion.• The primary person of contact between APAC clients; Singapore, Australia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the service / equipment providers from EU and Taiwan. Hitec (M) clientele includes Fujitsu, NTT, Nokia, TATA, Keppel, etc. Managed first-time installation projects in numerous APAC countries such as Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, Vietnam.• Hitec (M) SME3 office officially closed in Feb 2015; APAC projects function now to be merged with service department branch Hitec Taiwan as the regional sales hub.

• Reporting to the Technical Manager, and technically trained in high-low voltage and DRUPS in the Netherlands.• Initially based in the Netherlands for 6 months while performing on-site DRUPS servicing and commissioning at various facilities within the European Union (EU); such countries apart from the Netherlands would include France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany. Extensive travel throughout the EU with personal transportation provided by Hitec Netherlands.• On-site commissioning and servicing at these facilities include duties such as insulation testing, the checking of installed wiring, the testing of system and switchgear responses, the resolving of UPS fault-alarms, the modifying of PLC software, the performing of rotational-alignments, and the assessment of machine vibrations and mechanical wear and tear.• Supervised DRUPS installation by the installers at the Fujitsu Data Centre in Perth, Australia; this includes assuring that the building-layout and installation of wiring and system-components are in accordance with Hitec requirements, inspecting the condition of our equipment at site after being shipped from the EU, and providing guidelines on the necessary procedures required for the handling and installation of the DRUPS.• Designed layout-proposals of our DRUPS equipment for installation in new buildings of possible clients, by using AutoCAD software. Producing these drawings was a complementary task in aiding the Sales division during a request for tenders, and would basically comprise of preliminary Plan and Side views of client buildings with our equipment installed; as to indicate suggested cable layouts, locations of radiator and sound-insulated ventilation units for efficient engine cooling, radiator piping-lines, arrangement of Main Power Board (MPB) and other control panels, engine-exhaust exit, and clearance in the building required for future replacement of major DRUPS components.

• 24-7 operating Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) environment of a multinational-enterprise; the job scope includes the conducting of preventive maintenance to minimize machine-downtimes, the troubleshooting of unexpected machine-failures, the optimizing of machine-outputs, the reduction of rejected products, the implementation of technical-improvements on machines, and the integrating of new equipment with the existing production-system.• Knowledgeable in the design and operating methodology of production-machinery, and with extensive hands-on experience with their components; control-circuit devices, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s), motors and drives, cam-banks, pneumatics and electro-pneumatics, and a large variety of instruments or sensors. PLC experience involves the Siemens STEP 7 and STEP 7.• Commissioned a specialized “tin-pack” production-line intended for an Eastern European export market, which consists of a set of unique machines loading cigarettes into ready-made tin containers, and packing them into special cartons. Also commissioned a cigarette-making and a cigarette-packing machine for the QA department, intended for producing test-samples of new products.• Assigned at the neighbouring factory, Cast Leaf, to build from scratch a maintenance-database for a set of new large-scale machinery, prior to the plant’s commissioning. This production-line was intended to process large amounts of tobacco-dust and stems, and produce artificial tobacco leaves intended for cigarettes. The work comprises of identifying all electrical and mechanical components of the machinery, analyzing and scheduling their maintenance-routines, and organizing those components with their respective maintenance-routines on the Maintenance Experts (MEX) software.

• The role was part of an industrial-placement programme by Liverpool John Moores University; a programme which adds an additional year for employment between studies, for the purpose of industrial exposure. Employment here continued as part-time after the placement programme had ended.• Introduced to, and attained great knowledge in digital electronics; such of which would include the designing and prototyping of circuits, the programming of micro-controllers and interfacing them with devices such as Liquid Crystal Displays (LCDs) and Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver modules, the troubleshooting and repair of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) circuit-boards, and the designing of layouts for customized Printed Circuit Boards (PCB).• Designed and built data-generators used to test the integrity of the recording function of the company’s flagship black-box product, as well as carrying out of test-procedures and repair work on its new or faulty main-boards. This was an accomplishment as no other Undergraduate Engineer during my tenure was involved with the company’s flagship product.• The electronics experienced attained had contributed to my success in the design and construction of a prototype device, a GPS-based Personal Tour Guide. The prototype was sponsored by the company as a research and development project, and was also used for my BEng Final Year Engineering Project.
