With over 20 years of experience in financial and non-financial risk management, governance, and trade finance, I am currently leading the Energy and Financial Risk function at CS Energy, supporting the governance, compliance and risk analytics across the Trading and Retail businesses.Previously, I was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Risk Officer at Mackeller Capital, a premium boutique international trade finance and investment firm with business coverage in both Australia and Asia. I established and managed all the operational and governance processes and systems, and oversaw the risk appetite, policies, and controls for the firm. I also partnered with the business to provide tailored funding and trade finance solutions for the clients, and to deliver superior market returns for investors. Prior to this I was Head of Risk Management at both BHP and South32, covering Market Risk, Credit Risk, Product Risk and Enterprise Risk.I am a strategic thinker, a problem solver, and a collaborator. I have a strong commercial acumen, analytical abilities, and communication skills. I value education and development, and I have obtained a Master of Applied Finance at Macquarie University and the Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment from FINSIA. Immediate attention in late 2008 was a successful project aimed at upgrading the creditworthiness of the book in the incredibly challenging global credit environment, in order to minimise losses during this time.. Accountable for the BHP’s trade finance activities, including managing the external banking relationships. I oversaw implementation of a new standardised trade strategy, aimed at streamlining activities and efficiency with the banks. The end result was receiving more favourable pricing arrangements from the banks and improving BHP's bottom line.Responsible for overseeing and managing BHP's credit insurance portfolio with external parties before successfully transitioning this to an in-house self-insured arrangement.
