As a catalyst I comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable, pointing others in the direction of their inner wisdom and truth to find more self-acceptance and contentment in the present.Historically, I found myself being highly successful in the corporate world, leading large teams in global multinational companies, but struggling in relationships, and in the areas of self-esteem and mental health. From this, I developed a passion for self-development and growth. Developed a new risk management framework to align with the new strategy, drivers, values and risk appetite of the company.Revamped the risk approvals framework, delegating accountability more effectively and streamlining the Risk processes, resulting in clearer, more coordinated and better understood risk practices. Facilitated a workshop to identify and manage risks associated with the new company not meeting its year one objectives. I also designed and implemented a risk framework for a complex discretionary third-party physical optimisation book, a completely new activity to this organisation. I embraced the company’s new values (Care, Trust, Togetherness, and Excellence) and developed a highly-connected team, and together we produced amazing results.

Leadership of the Market, Credit & Trade Finance and Product Risk functions for all commodities and freight activities globally, as well as management of key Enterprise Risks for Marketing. I managed a team of 34 people spread across multiple countries. Presented papers to the RIsk Management Committee on risk-related compliance and proposals, and risk analysis on commercial proposals. I oversaw a debtors’ book of over US$4 billion with all credit submissions either approved by me, or endorsed by me for a higher approval authority. Other responsibilities included establishing plans, budgets and performance targets, and ensuring delivery against them.Lead project role for Marketing in designing and rolling out a new Policies and Procedures control framework.

I assumed the role as the global Credit Risk Manager at the onset of the Global FInancial Crisis, where I was responsible for building a new centralised credit team and standardised global work practices and processes. Immediate attention in late 2008 was a successful project aimed at upgrading the creditworthiness of the book in the incredibly challenging global credit environment, in order to minimise losses during this time.. Accountable for the BHP’s trade finance activities, including managing the external banking relationships. I oversaw implementation of a new standardised trade strategy, aimed at streamlining activities and efficiency with the banks. The end result was receiving more favourable pricing arrangements from the banks and improving BHP's bottom line.Responsible for overseeing and managing BHP's credit insurance portfolio with external parties before successfully transitioning this to an in-house self-insured arrangement.

The purpose of this newly created role was to develop, coordinate and implement standardised Risk and control processes globally across all commodity teams. During my short time in this role I completed a review of all sales and trading activities across all commodities to identify control gaps/weaknesses and ensure they were addressed.

Accountable for all Enterprise Risk, Financial Risk, and Settlements activities across the organisation, including the power plant at Millmerran. I chaired the Risk Management Committee meetings, which included senior executives and major shareholders. Responsible for Compliance as the nominated Officer under the AFSL licensing arrangement, assumed responsibility for activities associated with ensuring ongoing compliance with corporate legislation, regulations and other requirements, including facilitating implementing new Compliance policies and procedures, conducting Compliance training and overseeing ongoing education for all employees.I was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Callide Power Trading Pty Ltd, a joint venture trading company, with CS Energy. I was jointly responsible for the rollout of a new Enterprise Risk Management framework, including leading risk assessment workshops at the head office and power plant.
