Joint Base Andrews, Md

Supervises a security team comprised of 15 members. Ensures members are following their operational instructions to prevent, deter, or detect security deficiencies. Our team has provided safety and security for 2,000+ personnel and "Air Force One" with zero discrepancies. Duties include sensor testing, managing accountability of a restricted area badge exchange system, responding to alarm activation's, vehicle/personnel searches, and coordinating "Air Force One" movements along side of secret service in support of Senators and the "President of the United States".

Deployed to the UAE in direct support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Provided safety and security to over 10K personnel and assets valued at $1.5 Billion. Duties included entry controller to both non-restricted and restricted areas utilizing the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS). As the restricted area supervisor I ensured certain host nation customs and courtesies were followed to avoid repercussions such as deportation. Al Dhafra Air Base is a Joint Task Force working multiple countries. Customs and courtesies did not only apply to host nation. As the area supervisor it was my job to know and train my subordinates in the different procedures, Id's, and area's our joint partners were allowed into. I was also the on-scene commander for a few in-flight emergencies and assisted in setting up cordons for damaged aircraft. Constantly observed airman in the unit to ensure they were physically, mentally, and spiritually fit for duty. I was directly responsible for the evaluation of three subordinates and writing their enlisted performance report. Additional duty: fitness monitor of 64 members and apply corrective action as needed.

Joint Base Andrews, Md

Performed duties such as speed, stop sign, and cell phone selective's on patrol, responding to domestic situations, minor and major vehicle accidents, personal and government property damage, and larceny's. Situations resulted anywhere from a issuing a citation, conducting an interview, taking statements, collecting/documenting evidence, making arrest, and appearing in court to testify before a judge.

Italy

Main duties to maintain security of Nuclear weapons by conducting sensor test, perimeter checks, convoy operations, no-notice stock pile verifications, and responding to system malfunctions. Local nationals occasionally protested the base and would attempt to gain unauthorized entry. Contact with local media was also common. Additional duties included close bound sentry (CBS), sentry for entry control points, responding to aircraft in-flight-emergencies, enforcing traffic laws, administering standard field sobriety test, processing alcohol related incidents, burglaries, and vehicle accidents (on and off) the U.S. installation. All additional duties were performed jointly with local nationals (Italian Military, Carabinieri, Municipal Police, and State Police).

Remote Location

Main duties to maintain security of "Ballistic Missile Early Warning System" (Radar Site) by conducting sensor test, lock checks, perimeter checks, responding to alarm activation's, and sentry for entry control points. Additional duty shift armorer: store, issue, and maintain accountability of ammunition, weapons, special equipment, and explosives. Occasionally ride on patrol looking for signs of polar bears and assisting with base shut downs during extreme weather conditions.
