Vice President - Letter Of Credit Officer
CurrentResponsible to manage and monitor the Banks’ Letter of Credit portfolio. In this role, I am the central point of contact internally and externally for any activity related to the Banks’ Letter of Credit business.RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist Lending Officers and Portfolio Managers with the origination of the transactions and provide support to grow the activity; Review the proposed transaction language, structuring of terms and conditions of the transaction, and furnish pricing recommendations; Work closely with Credit team to ensure the structure and terms/conditions of the write-up properly reflect and describe the transaction purpose; Prepare and obtain necessary support documentation for the transactions: Perform and complete a compliance review for each transaction; Arrange for accurate and timely booking of the transaction; Organize and prepare billing with appropriate fees and pursue timely collection of fees; Created several internal and external communications related to the Letter of Credit transactions; Implemented an email alert process to Lending Officers and Portfolio Managers of their upcoming transactions in order to provide them additional time to commence internal review and discussion regarding the credit renewal and obtain client intentions about the transaction; Review transaction data to ensure the system reports for the Letter of Credit portfolio are updated regularly and reflect accurate data; Furnish periodic educational presentations to Bank employees to ensure they better understand how Letters of Credit are used, how the Letter of Credit process works, what Letters of Credit can do and cannot do, and the risks involved with these transactions; Cross-sell and promote other Bank products and services during client meetings and business events.
