Lead Systems Engineer for The C-130T Avionics Obsolescence Upgrade (AOU) Program which will provide the USN an affordable solution to comply with the CNS/ATM regulatory mandates, address avionics system safety and obsolescence. Without the AOU upgrades these aircraft would not be permitted to fly their missions as tasked due to non-compliance with NAV-Safety, FAA and ICAO mandates.The AOU Program is using a mixture of current technology, FAA certified COTS and MOTS hardware, software, systems and sub-systems by replacing federated analog systems with integrated, digital “glass” technology incorporating Multi-function Displays (MFD) and other upgrades to address these NAV-Safety, CNS/ATM and obsolescence issues.

AV IPT Mission - develop, produce, and sustain all three air vehicle variants cheaper, faster, and better than planned in support of the JSFPO. The P-8A Multi-mission Maritime Aircraft is an ACAT-1D Program that is the next generation USN Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance aircraft, specifically intended to replace the aging P-3C aircraft. Boeing was awarded a $3.89B contract for the SDD phase of the program on 14June2004. The P-8A contributes to satisfying Defense Planning Guidance over a wide range of potential military operations, and is expected to significantly transform how the Navy's maritime patrol and reconnaissance force will train, operate and deploy.

The Air Vehicle (AV) Team is comprised of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the following engineering disciplines: Airframe Structural Strength and Fatigue, Airframe Flight Loads, Structural Dynamics, Airframe Ground Loads, Aero Performance, Flight Dynamics, Flight Controls, Weapons Separation, Environmental Control Systems, Fire Suppression, Aerial Refueling, Material Sciences and all Mechanical Subsystems. The responsibility of this position required the technical management of these disciplines from representative Team members comprised of both Industry and DOD personnel.
