• Direct the NEA’s Financial and Business operations • Create, coordinate and evaluate the financial programs and supporting systems of the NEA including budgeting, tax planning and conservation of assets. • Direct the development of the Strategic Plan and Budget and provide oversight for the Internal Audit program. • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory reporting requirements. • Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, reports, special analyses and information reports. • Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards. • Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide Association leaders. • Serve on several planning and policy-making committees.• Provide periodic updates to staff and affiliates about the prevailing global economic conditions and related fiscal health of the organization and coordinate strategies for stability and growth.• Serve on NEA’s Health Information Network Finance & Audit Committee.• Chair the Education International’s Audit Committee (Brussels, Belgium)• Serve as Board and Audit and Financial Review Committee member of the California Casualty Insurance Group. • Serve as Plan Administrator for the NEA Member Insurance Trust. • Trustee NEA and Affiliates Retiree Medical Trust • Trustee NEA Fund for Children and Public Education (Political Action Committee).

Assist upper management and Board of Directors in measuring and determining the financial results of the group properties.

• Planned, performed and coordinated all field activity for new and recurring audit engagements. • Client industry exposure including not-for profit organizations, public schools, real estate, defense contracting, brokerage, retail and governmental entities.
