I Discovered Land Surveying in 2001 & Quickly knew What my purpose was...Started as a "Fetch It " - but was quickly moved to Instrument Man IN weeks.Was Fortunate to be mentored for my first 2 years by a Team of Seasoned Crew chiefsIN a time where you would be breaking down sections one day to setting the same 200 mass grade stakes you set the day before. The experience was priceless.Was Given My First opportunity to totally own my own work ( was Jr. Crew chief for 3 years while my 2nd mentor ended his career, while refusing to learn a Robot~God Bless Him ~) From my next set of Mentors @ TFW Surveying & Mapping.I continue to work with the Same Group (Most OF) & Have Been Lucky to surround myself with Some of the Brightest / Most Genuine People The Midwest has to offer.I Now Perform most of the Construction Calculations / Schedule the Field Crews Daily / Research, Set Up New Jobs / Maintain Positive Relationships with our Current & Future Clients / Be an Advocate for the Field Crews While trying to Progress with The Technology that is shaping our Industry.I Never Have a Dull Day...Maybe A Quiet one , But Never a Dull oneLand surveyors can spend as much time reading legislation, bylaws, and engineering documents as we spend in front of an instrument in the field or calculating coordinates for a subdivision.
