About Michael Peterson
Enlisted in the Marine Corps since 2011, I am currently working as an F-35 powerplant mechanic but also have 7 years of experience in the F-18 platform. Majority of my experience is in powerplant, fuel system and secondary systems. As a leader, I supervise a team of 20 to 30 people on daily tasks and mission essential requirements. I ensure junior personnel receive training on technical manuals and key documentation practices within their job title. Being in the Aviation community, I keep effective and open line of communication between coworkers to ensure smooth maintenance practices. I am also experienced in high tempo mission requirements as well as adaptability on the fly. Extra duties and billets I have in the Aviation community are:- Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative for both F-18 and F-35 aircrafts, which ensures the safe and effective maintenance within the work center.- Foreign Object Debris Manager, which manages the departments debris and non-essential parts within the work center. This is a key program which ensures the maintenance department continues to maintain its flight status. As a recruiter, I spent time developing and leading future Marines to ensure their goals and mission requirements were met. I established connections within the community and local schools to ensure military opportunities were available to everyone. Dealing with recruiting structures, adaptability and critical skills were a must in order to thrive within this job title.
