I am a writer in the media department of a 820,000-member trade union with its international headquarters in Washington's downtown. The IBEW is a leader in the construction, utility and broadcast and also represents workers in manufacturing, railroad, public service and numerous other industries in the United States and Canada. I write and report stories for ibew.org and the Electrical Worker, which is distributed monthly to all members and retirees, and assist in any initiatives involving our department. I was part of our staff at the IBEW's 2016 International Convention in St. Louis and the 2021 International Convention in Chicago.

My work has appeared in the New York Times and Washington Post, along with several other publications. I've also written for the Associated Press, been interviewed by ESPN and was a guest on local radio stations throughout the country during my sports writing career.

Indianapolis, Indiana Area

I covered Butler University basketball during my final nine months and helped increase web traffic on the Butler section at indystar.com by nearly 20 percent through the use of videos and web exclusives.I was the Purdue University beat writer from 2001-07 and our backup Indiana Pacers writer from 2013-14. I also extensively covered high school sports. I assisted with every major sports beat at some point during my tenure. I have experience with blogging, on-line chats and podcasts.

Evansville, Indiana Area

I worked as a sports writer for the largest newspaper in Indiana south of Indianapolis. My primary beats were Evansville city high schools, horse racing and University of Evansville basketball. I also worked on the sports copy desk.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

I worked primarily as a copy editor on Scripps Howard's national sports desk. Sometimes wrote about sports in the Washington area.

Kansas City, Missouri Area

Worked as the newspaper's University of Missouri-based sports correspondent. I assisted Star staffers, who were based in Kansas City nearly two hours away, in their coverage of Mizzou sports.

Acting

I am currently attending classes at the Studio Acting Conservatory, a premier training institution for actors and directors in Washington.
