I am largely retired now. My professional life revolved around transactions. Following an extended period as a Regular Officer in the U. S. Navy with tours of duty in Asia, Europe, and the U. S., I entered the world of investment securities and investment banking. My formative years in this world with LEHMAN BROTHERS, KUHN LOEB provided to me opportunities to learn and develop skills in corporate mergers and acquisitions. With something of an independent spirit, I subsequently founded and managed two "boutique" investment banking firms in San Francisco that specialized in providing financial services to smaller and mid-market companies primarily in California. This activity led to the creation of a unique U. S./Japan strategic transaction management firm, PACIFIC MARKETING PARTNERS, which has represented many larger and mid-size Japanese companies in acquisitions and joint venture relationships in the U.S. We also managed both buy side and sell side transactions for U. S. companies. We were particularly regarded for our focus, our commitment, and our bull-doggedness in assuring successful project accomplishment for our clients. I do continue to undertake the occasional "special project."Specialties: Strategic transaction management, mergers and acquisitions, corporate management, technology and product transfer to Japan, and new business concept development .
