• Oversaw the initial production and testing of a new $250k satellite battery design, including development of assembly processes, specifications, and fixtures as well as test plan development and completion • Key member of a small team responsible for setting up the process flow and developing standardized manufacturing processes for the new Space Battery Assembly area using lean manufacturing principles• Led a project proposal effort for the initial development of a new battery concept to meet customer-specified requirements while managing both a fixed budget and multiple team members• Involvement in all levels of the program operations from bid and proposal, initial design and development, final design, procurement, manufacturing setup, manufacturing, testing, and delivery• Coordinate program activities between Program Management and the various Operations departments• Oversee and investigate issues and concerns that arise throughout the execution stages of a program• Interface with customer representatives to discuss the regular status of the programs, address upcoming developments and work to resolve issues.• Lead the design and development of battery components while working with Mechanical and Electrical Engineering departments and interfacing with Manufacturing and Production personnel• Design and develop tool drawings for fixtures to be used in the manufacturing process• Develop Manufacturing Process Specifications outlining assembly steps for manufacturing personnel• Interface with the Operations department to coordinate scheduling of manufacturing • Work with Quality Inspectors and Engineers to address quality concerns and resolve non-conformances • Troubleshoot failures in battery performance using electrical schematic diagrams and drawings• Oversee various testing operations performed on the battery and its components including temperature cycle testing, electrical performance testing, vibration testing and thermal-vacuum testing
