Taught many courses at both undergraduate and graduate level, including workers compensation, Administration, Personal/Environmental Hazards, Ergonomics, Ergo II, Construction Safety, Principles of S &H, Hazard ID and Control, Human Factors, Industrial Relations Law, Environmental law, Industrial Safety Management, Process Safety Management., etc..Developed the undergraduate online safety program. This law firm focused primarily on labor, employment and safety law. We also have done a great deal of criminal defense work over the years but have limited this work in later years. We had a national practice in labor, employment and safety law and were highly successful in keeping employers non-union, winning union elections, and when negotiating collective bargaining agreements, being successful in getting concessions from the unions. We have handled a number of OSHA death cases over the years and numerous OSHA inspections and citation appeals. We also did a great deal of consultation for employers on all types of issues.

General Counsel/ EHS Director: I was also a member of senior management for this Japanese owned Tier I manufacturer of new auto parts for Nissan, Honda, Toyota, and other auto manufacturers. Our parent company was Keiaisha Co. Ltd out of Yokohama, Japan (a large conglomerate of companies). I was hired because they had a number of employment law issues, labor unrest, and workers compensation issues. Key accomplishments: Labor peace for 5 years. Zero employment related lawsuits or administrative complaints filed during term as G.C. Injuries reduced 46%. Total loss run for WC was 14% resulting in significant annual premium refund ($75,000). Environmental efforts reduced insurance premiums by $ 50,000 per year.

Key accomplishments: - accomplished labor peace after 9 month strike and 40 bargaining sessions - with huge labor concessions. plant was up and running within 2 weeks of strike starting with replacement workforce and at full capacity within 8 weeks. - achieved labor peace and excellent contracts for next 3 CBA's. - Company liaison with OSHA for multiple wall to wall inspections with minimal costs in 80 year old plant.- terminated mid-term collective bargaining agreement with Teamsters with no unfair labor practice charges, grievances or arbitration(s). - Implement most of the company safety programs. -Directed Detroit, MI plant closure with no legal, security or labor ramifications.
