I am an urban planning student with a background in urban horticulture. I have a passion for nature and the environment, and believe my horticultural training has provided transferable knowledge in areas such as WSUD, planning for biodiversity, urban tree selection and management, and a knowledge of natural systems such as soils and food webs. As an urban planning student I have developed strong research and interpretation skills, and have strengthened my ability to problem solve and analyse. I have completed a unit in ArcGIS Pro, focussing on spatial analysis. I am also competent using the Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Excel. I am currently employed at a specialist plant nursery in Brunswick, and have previously worked as a self employed gardener and horticulturist. As a gardener I liaised with clients, prepared quotes and invoices, performed a range of maintenance tasks, and I designed and constructed a couple of small gardens. Whilst working across Melbourne as a gardener, I was surprised by the degree to which the quality and availability of green space varies geographically. I'm committed to learning methods of planning which enhance environmental equity, and help provide Melbournians with access to quality green spaces. I also have several years experience in call centres and working within teams, I think I am personable, conscientious, and outgoing. I have a strong desire to learn, and would appreciate any new connections within the industry.
