Dr. Smith is a graduate of East Central University, Ada, OK with a BA in Sociology and Communications. He received his MS in Psychology from Oklahoma State University in 1973, and a Ph.D. in Applied Behavioral Studies from OSU in 1985. Dr. Smith was employed by Oklahoma Natural Gas Co and ONEOK for 27 years beginning in 1977 where he was Manager – Employee Assistance Program, Equal Employment Opportunity. Responsibilities included Corporate Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Dr. Smith has teaching experience with Tulsa Community College, Phillips University and Oklahoma City University. His academic focus is in Cross Cultural Management, Critical Thinking and Business Ethics and differing cultures. In April of 2005 Dr. Smith founded the Oklahoma Association for Problem & Compulsive Gambling, Inc. The Oklahoma Association for Problem & Compulsive Gambling, Inc. (OAPCG) was incorporated to be the independent Oklahoma advocate for programs and services to assist problem & compulsive gamblers and their families.
