Operations Supervisor for PHMSA Office of Pipeline Safety's Eastern Region. I supervise our general inspection team of 7 inspectors whose are primarily responsible for performing integrated inspections of pipeline systems throughout the country. Determining resource requirements, performance based standards, and innovative regulatory approaches to institutionalize policies and procedures.

Perform comprehensive Pipeline Safety inspections of interstate hazardous liquid and natural gas Operators throughout the Eastern Region of the United States.Possess and constantly expand on my comprehensive knowledge of 49 C.F.R. Parts 191, 192, 193, 195, and 199 including referenced standards and other key documents such as ASME B31.8S, API RP1162, API RP 1163, NACE SP0502, etc. Utilize this knowledge to perform comprehensive inspection of Operator's safety programs, and in enforcing relevant portions of the code when deficiencies are noted. Represent Eastern Region on the Inspection Assistant (IA)team, providing our region's feedback and suggestions for enhancing a nationally utilized inspection guidance software.My federal certification training continues with completion of my Gas Inspector certification in early 2015 and pursuit of my Gas Integrity Management and Liquefied Natural Gas certifications by the end of 2016.

Perform comprehensive Pipeline Safety inspections of LDC natural gas operators of intrastate distribution and transmission pipelines in Virginia. Possess comprehensive knowledge of 49 C.F.R. Parts 191 and 192, including referenced standards and other key documents such as ASME B31.8S, API RP1162, NACE SP0502, etc. Utilize this knowledge to perform comprehensive inspection of Operator's safety programs, and in enforcing relevant portions of the code when deficiencies are noted. Focus on the Distribution and Transmission Integrity Management Programs of the LDCs in Virginia, performing thorough reviews of these complex risked based programs, their associated written plans and their implementation. This also includes inspection of field activities such as ECDA/ICDA, ILI tool runs, and other assessments and their associated direct assessment digs. Apply my knowledge in the field of excavation practices, integrity management requirements (data capture, dig and remediation criteria, etc.), corrosion/cathodic protection systems, non-destructive examination (Magnetic particle, Radiography, Ultrasonic Thickness, etc.), and all other applicable procedures and regulatory requirements.My PHMSA federal certification continues with completion of my Gas Inspector qualifications in September. I begin my path towards being a federally qualified Gas Integrity Management inspector with the fundamentals of integrity management prerequisite course in October.

Perform Pipeline Safety inspections of LDC natural gas operators for intrastate pipelines in Virginia as a member of the Division of Utility and Railroad Safety at the Virginia State Corporation Commission. Area of concentration is in Integrity Management Programs, both Distribution (DIMP) and Transmission (TIMP). Also have a passion for Corrosion Control and am currently striving to become an expert in both galvanic and rectified cathodic protection systems, as well as atmospheric, DC and AC corrosion. Along with my inspection responsibilities, I also do a great deal of data work regarding URS' PIPES and MUST databases, frequently running SQL queries of database information, assisting in the development and continued improvement of our PIPES software, functioning as an administrator of PIPES, as well as working to improve our Risk Based Inspection model. I plan to be qualified through PHMSA as an Integrity Management inspector within the next 2 years.
