His areas of expertise used for client customization and implementation include: Strategy development and planning, Change management, Market segmentation, Customer selection and prioritization, Strategic Customer Engagement, Business planning, Opportunity planning, Organizational effectiveness, Teamwork and alignment, DiSC and EQi-2.0 certification, Coaching and mentoring, and Executive engagement and sponsorship.Leveraging his career and personal experience, Michael was named Chairman of several industry tradeassociations that had global industry directional and leadership impact. Michael grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Georgia State University in Atlanta, holding advanced degrees in management and marketing. His graduate work was done at Georgia State University and the Executive Advanced Management Program at Stanford University.He currently resides in Northern Virginia with his wife, Cindy, and their many rescued senior and ‘special-needs’ dogs.

Michael took on a new challenge at 3M to define, develop and deploy a Customer-centric approach to 3M Electronics' largest global Customers, and then extended to 3M’s Enterprise strategic Customers. This new initiative focused both on strategy development and business execution which was acknowledged within 3M and also outside the company as a "best practice" for launching an effective Global Strategic Account Management (SAM) program. Michael retired early from 3M to pursue his real passion of a sharper focus on Strategic Customer Engagement and joined Performance Methods, Inc. (PMI) as a Senior Partner in early 2007, leveraging his Fortune 100 company experience..Recognizing his passion, experience and willingness to share and contribute best practice knowledge of strategic account management, Michael was elected to the Board of Directors of the Strategic Account Management Association (SAMA) in 2006 where he served for 8 years.
