Performs field materials testing of soil, asphalt, masonry and concrete. Prepares detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and inspections/observations provided. Performs basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete and prepares reports of results. Evaluates site and subgrade conditions on construction projects and provides recommendations. Communicates with clients, contractors, engineers and technician staff regarding construction issues.

Worked under a Mechanical Engineer to prepare basic design layouts of commercial/industrial HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems based on general standards, practices and procedures. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to, duct sizing, diffuser sizing/selection, HVAC equipment sizing/selection, pipe sizing, pipe equipment layout and general coordination with other trades and engineering disciplines.

Worked in the CAD department to provide CAD drawings to project managers, estimators, field crews, contractors, etc. for fabrication and construction of plumbing and heating systems. The drawings consisted of overall elevated pipe/duct floor plans, detailed connections to mechanical equipment and overall trade coordination drawings. The Building Information Process (BIM) was primarily utilized with the Autodesk AEC software, allowing for ease of planning, coordinating, and constructing with other trades; reducing potential clashes during construction, saving time and money.

Engineering Co-op. Used AutoCAD and other supporting programs to edit, design and plot drawings for fabrication and fieldwork while coordinating with fellow CAD operators, project managers and other mechanical contracting companies to ensure everything was submitted accurately and with good quality.
