Write and enter work notifications into SAP for equipment and unit repairs, issue SWP. Follow process logic, troubleshoot/manage alarm states on equipment, adjust operating points. Assist in preparation of equipment for maintenance. Review and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, Lock Out Lists, and CommissioningProcedures for my area. Responsible for operating the plant in a safe and productive manner at all times. Perform area cleanup as required to maintain high housekeeping standards and limit maintenance andreliability tasks in my area.

Ridgeline deals with solid and liquid wastes including tank bottoms, stung sand and slope oil. Iwas assigned as a plant facility operator. Assigned to the commissioning and the start-up of the facility. Spun cuts with a centrifuge, ran glycol boiler and tube burners, started and stopped mechanicalequipment, transferred fluids, supervised the loading and unloading of trucks, also ran the scale,operated a skid steer. Created standard operating procedures along with lock out/ Tag out procedures anddocumentation. Responsible for operating the plant in a safe and productive manner at all times.

Conklin Black Gold Site

Work responsibilities were assigned during the 10,000 BPD SAGD Plant construction andcommissioning. The downturn in the oil industry resulted in a construction project delay and myposition selected in the staff reductions. Create standard operating procedures based on Original Equipment Manufacturer manuals forreview by the Operations Team and Chief Power Engineer. Self-trained with the operating systems by referencing isometric drawings, PFD’s, and walkingdown construction packages and noting fabrication deficiencies. Perform various mechanical equipment assignments including changing out pump/drivercouplings, pump packing's, pump alignment, and some electrical modifications for building lightingand alarms. Team member development of the site operations Lock Out/Tag Out procedure anddocumentation. Participated in emergency response drills and provided feedback regarding the safety practiceimplementation.

This practicum demonstrates my commitment to achieving my 3rd class and was performed in afull production Biodiesel plant. I was assigned as a Plant Operator on the steam side with the assistance of a Co Gen. Responsible for the consistent operation of the plant pressure levels; stable temperatures weremaintained in the cooling towers; identifying and when appropriate making minor adjustments. Increased proficiency in the diagnosis and troubleshooting of problems that could impact plantoperations. Completed water tests for the boilers and cooling towers to ensure chemical properties were kept in balance. Assigned to complete system wide Plant Drawing of professional quality, confirming direction offlows; valves, pumps, etc. Completed blowdowns such as DEA and boilers (GG/WC/LWCO/Drum) for insuring alarms are in working order. Responsive during Power outage, ensuring the safe continuous operation of the plant and vitalsystems such as the air and feed water pumps were continuing to run.
