Lead full-service, municipal government in a Faulkner – Special charter community with 400-plus employees and $72 million annual budget. Working on the following: improving productivity in a civil service context, upgrading and increasing utilization of IT, acquiring new open space for parks and development new recreation facilities, trying to stabilize property taxes and improving failing infrastructure. Experience working on multiple redevelopment projects which are currently underway in Bloomfield and soliciting and reviewing RFPs &RFQs. Created new policies such as Complete Streets, Economic Development Committee and Quality of Life Task Force. Helped negotiate the current Police and Fire contract resulting in $3 million in savings for the township over ten years.

Manage the daily operations of Senator Lautenberg’s projects staff of ten. Advise senior U.S. Senator on strategic direction of political and policy initiatives. Review grant applications from municipalities and non-profit organizations and help select recipients of congressionally directed funding. Approve all memorandums and documents written by projects staff. Manage relations and outreach to state and local elected officials and leaders. Work closely and represent the Senator before numerous state, regional and municipal organizations and agencies, including New Jersey Conference of Mayors, NJ Legislature, NJ DEP, NJ DOT, NJ Transit, Port Authority of NY/NJ, North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, and the New Jersey League of Municipalities. Serve as the human resource officer in Newark office with experience interviewing individuals for employment. Extensive campaign and field work experience for Senator’s reelection campaign in 2008.

Developed relations with elected officials, community activists and constituents in Essex and Passaic Counties. Organized public safety, veterans, transportation, labor and student advisory committees as well as grant writing seminars. Monitored and advised Congressman on transportation and homeland security legislative issues. Extensive campaign work experience for Congressman’s 2006 reelection.
