Naval Submarine School Detachment Kittery is the first detachment of the training hub of the submarine force. Responsible for standing up the detachment and all training operations supporting the 4 nuclear powered submarines homeported in Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

Responsible for ensuring adequacy and accuracy of all critical maintenance performed on board a $2.8 billion dollar Virginia Class Submarine during a 6 month overseas deployment and the ensuing post deployment cycle which consisted of multiple maintenance periods.

Led and developed a division of the Navy’s most highly trained nuclear operators to ensure safe radiological work and to maintain the complex chemistry of a S9G nuclear reactor plant. Successfully oversaw multiple zero defect programs guaranteeing continued operation of Missouri’s nuclear power plant.
