I joined Burdens in 1970 when its turnover was £400k, it is now in excess of £300 million. I joined Credit Control in 1972 as Credit Controller and became Credit Manager shortly after. Credit Control and Credit Risk were split into 2 separate departments in 1999 and I became Credit Risk Manager. We look after the credit insurance policy with QBE. We mainly deal with credit assessment of the risks outside of the policy which includes a lot of analysis work and also visiting cutomers from time to time.

Accounts Clerk - this included pricing invoices, charging invoices out, direct invoicing and general accounting duties. I became a Credit Controller in February 1972 and then Credit Manager a little while later. I became Group Credit Risk Manager in July 1999 and Joint Group Credit Risk Manager in October 2008 when Donna Chambers was brought in to help with sucession when I retire sometime before April 2015 when i will be 65.
