Michael is an award-winning urban designer whose creative thinking and developments are influencing the post-Covid regeneration of new communities. Michael is playing a national role as Director of Urbis, helping shape cities, suburbs and communities. As a young leader, he has a particular focus on the new Australian dream – the way all generations, and in particular millennials, are choosing to live, work and invest in property.Michael became a Director of Urbis at 28 years old and has worked in senior urban design roles, specialising in new communities and their various components including residential subdivision, open space master planning, mixed-use and town centre developments. Involved end to end, he works with his clients to develop their project vision, concept designs and over master planning through stakeholder workshops and community consultation.Michael enjoys sharing his insights, regularly presenting at events and featured in the media on emerging trends and approaches to urban development. He also mentors and coaches young designers and is keen to ensure there is diversity and inclusion in the property and design industries. He advocates on the industry’s behalf for the delivery of commercial design solutions on a number of committees including the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s Built Form Committee and the Committee for Brisbane Smart Region Taskforce.When off the tools, he is down at the local surf lifesaving club, chasing his kids around at the beach or enjoying a beer after a round of golf.
