He is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where he received a Bachelors in Education. After undergraduate school, he pursued a Master in School Administration at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.His school involvement in education is at all levels. He has extensive work experience in preschool, elementary, middle and high school and has also worked in both the public and private sector which has given him a broad perspective of schooling. He taught middle school and has been a school administrator at all organizational levels.While in education, he received specific training in Academically Gifted Teaching from the University of Connecticut and training in IB (International Baccalaureate) from Calgary, Canada, and Cincinnati, Ohio. Michael has attended numerous conferences on coaching, instructional design, formative and summative assessments, Project Based Learning, curriculum innovation, special education workshops, Merit Pay for teachers in Los Angeles, California, observation and evaluation of teachers and staff, Leader in Me by Covey, Reader and Writers Workshop, Math Coaching, and Facilitative Leadership to name a few..During his administrative and teaching experience, he has worked with AdvancED on North Carolina School Accreditation and has been fortunate to help coach several principals, teachers, and students in education. He has traveled to Illinois, Florida, and Pennsylvania working with schools to enhance their school programs and organizations. While working in schools, he has had the unique opportunity to coach students and parents at all levels. It is his passion to help families with educational consulting, academic coaching and school navigation.
