While proudly serving in the U.S. Army, I was a radar operator (14J) or basically an air traffic controller from the field. After I exited the Army there was not a lot of need for the skills I had developed in the service. So I took on jobs in the construction field because that's what lost country folks do. I eventually began going to college for industrial automation, with emphasis in robotics. And after being employed using my schooling I realized I didn't like the field. So I went back to construction jobs, until I moved to Georgia. I noticed a very under served and very misunderstood popation of people in my community. Homeless Veterans. So I found dedicated a no profit called GY6 Inc. to help this population get the services they needed to return to self sufficient living. In 2 years we returned 8 homeless veterans to a life of self suficeincy with a very limited budget but a ton of determination. After the politics surrounding the homeless community got to be extreme my small nonprofit couldn't survive. So I now am considered a subject matter expert and am available to consult organizations on the issues surrounding a veteran in a specific situation and especially the tough cases people are about to give up on. I eventually decided that I want to have a proffession that I will be able to get a job in no matter where I live in the US. So I signed up to go to truck driving school through Troops into Transportation. I received my certificate and passed my CDL driving exam to begin my career as a professional Truck Driver. I began my career with Melton Trucking as an over the road flatbed driver. But I was not a good fit with Melton. So I left there and and am currently a company Driver at United Road Services.This is not to say that my career will not take a turn Into starting a freight brokering and driving company later on, but first I want to get Into the field and learn the industry Inside out.So if you are interested in this learning curve follow my account and see how much there is to learn and take this journey along with me.
