I started working as a Laboratory Technician at Coopers Brewery in December 2018 and have since been trained to work in all four laboratories on site. I initially started in the Main laboratory at Coopers Brewery focusing on testing the quality range of beer and home brewing products sold. The use of a LIMS data entry system was essential for comparing analyses with specifications as well as creating reports to release various products. I was then trained to work in the on-site Coopers Malting facility where I was responsible for malt analysis. I self managed my time in order to provide accurate results for the malting technicians, managers, and customers. I spent time in the Microbiology Laboratory where I aseptically sampled at various stages of production in order to ensure there were no unintended microbes being introduced to the products. Samples were plated, enriched, and under went real time qPCR in order to detect potential spoilage bacteria. In the Packing Laboratory I work closely with the Lager Cellar technicians as well as the employee's on the production lines. This dynamic role includes clearing bottling tanks, monitoring centrifuging, assisting with the starting of the lines, and on the spot checks of packaged products.

I worked over the summer at a Salvation Army camp, as a counselor responsible for supervising and acting as a role model for a cabin of boys aged 8-9. The role required a lot of patience, organization, and teamwork with other camp staff in order to provide these children with a safe and positive escape from their home lives. I received training on how to work with children, first aid, and how to teach archery along with other camp activities.

Gluttony is a popular outdoor venue hub for the Adelaide Fringe, set in Rymill Park. It hosts over a dozen venues with over a hundred shows and thousands of visitors. Before the Fringe began, I worked to help setting up the location and venues, distributed advertising material, and performed administrative tasks. During the Fringe, I worked in front of house for shows and directed visitors around the venues.
