Hi, I’m Michael!I currently work for Western States Equipment as a Senior Business Intelligence Developer. Before that, I worked for Boise State University and the City of Boise while attending Boise State University. I recently graduated with my Master's in Business Administration in May of 2022 and graduated in May 2020 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Studies and Community Development, with a minor in Applied Mathematics and a Geospatial Information Analysis Minor, a Conflict Resolution Certificate, an Elementary Spanish Certificate, and an Elementary Arabic Certificate.I am driven to build strong community connections with a focus on transportation. I like connecting people with places. I have a diverse background in many areas including engineering, math, data, statistics, programming, and conflict management that allow me to coordinate efforts across a multitude of different backgrounds and disciplines. I believe in a holistic approach to solving problems and I am constantly looking for ways to improve processes. I love to continue my learning and educational experience as well. There is nothing that I love more than being able to teach and share what I know with others.I am a lifelong learner. In the future, I would be interested in pursuing degrees in Engineering, Public Administration, Architecture, and Law.I would like to work towards my American Institute of City Planners (AICP) certification and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. If I had to sum up my work and education in one sentence it would be this: “I don’t know how to do everything, but I know that I can do anything that I put my mind to.” I love surrounding myself with people that are much smarter than I am, it's one of the best ways to learn.I don't like sitting still, so I am always seeking new opportunities, as well as learning new things. I've always wanted to open up a large-scale makerspace in the Treasure Valley to help bring new tools and technology to everyone. My research interests include: historical transit systems, old growth forests, energy conversion, gasification, and open source imaging.
